The Imperial Planning Commission consists of five (5) appointed officials which oversee the city’s, promote economic health, and improve the quality of life for all citizens. The commission meets regularly and evaluates major land use proposals in terms of their impact on the City, conducts public hearings on significant planning, zoning, and land subdivision matters, and recommends action and policy to the City Council.
Appointment and Terms of Office
Each member of the City Council shall appoint one planning commission member. The term of each commission member shall run concurrently with the term of office of the City Council member who appointed the commissioner. Any appointee shall be a registered voter within the City of Imperial at the time of appointment and throughout the appointment.
Regular Meetings
The Planning Commission meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Imperial City Council Chambers located at 200 W 9th Street, Imperial.
